The TPMC proposal was prepared for the international design competition organized by Taipei City Government. Being a hub of Chinese pop music, Taipei aspires to bring the culture to its new height, and to enhance its importance as a national heritage.
The proposal was based on the Kinetic Theory on collision, and it symbolized the Music Center as a nuclei where energies converge and where new energies are released. This exchange of energies is manifested into a composition of forms with overlapping and interlocking layers
and volumes. Articulated forms express the vitality imbued within the centre. The different spatial components are interlinked spatially and functionally by the connecting deck raised above the ground. This frees up the ground for maximum greenery and water bodies.
