HDB APARTMENT IN QUEEN’S CLOSE

This is an old HDB apartment that requires an overhaul to accommodate an extended family comprising three generations. Spatial planning takes on a different consideration as pockets of space are preferred to a multi-functional space to accommodate different activities. The dining space is where all members of the family will congregate and where communication takes place. Good daylight and visual connection is provided between the kitchen and the dining. The kitchen is well used by the grandmother preparing daily food, the mother and daughters baking cakes, and the dining space for family dinners and social gatherings. The project was completed in April 2014.
